Obituary

Mechanicville - Dean "Dino" Taglione of Saratoga Avenue died suddenly on Wednesday (Apr. 29, 2009). He was 32. Dean graduated from Notre Dame/Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady, NY, where he was a standout soccer player. He was a graduate of Johnson and Wales in Providence, RI. His diverse culinary career began in Islamorada, Florida, where he leaves many dear friends, includng Andy and Anne Marie Niedenethal. He began at Cheeca Lodge, where he cooked for former President Bush and Vice President Gore, and left the Keys as the Executive Chef at Pierre's, to pursue a career as a personal chef. Dean's work was featured in Gourmet, New York Daily News, Cosmopolitan, The East Sider and many other culinary publications. His career afforded him the chance to travel the world and experience unique opportunities. Dean's greatest joy was his family, and he was an avid participant in all of their lives. His infectious smile, adventurous spirit and generous heart will live on in those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Donna (Caschera) Taglione and his paternal grandmother, Mary C. Taglione all of Mechanicville, his siblings, Nadia (Anthony) Taglione Carey of Cohoes, Matthew Taglione of Arizona and Leah Taglione of North Carolina, his aunts and uncles, David and Kathy Caschera, Rosemary and Richard Hoag and Paul F. Taglione, niece Taylor Carey and nephew Maxwell Carey, Goddaughter Onnika Halse and several great aunts and uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather Paul Taglione and his maternal grandfather 'Skippy' Caschera Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm on Tuesday (May 5, 2009) at the Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc., 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville, NY 12118. A celebration of Dean's life will begin at 7pm.
