Dennis Patrick Furey, 72, the second child of 11 born to Charles and Audrey Furey in Saratoga Springs on October 19, 1949 passed away on February 16, 2022 in Copperas Cove, TX. Denny leaves behind his wife Mary, his daughter Colleen and his grandchildren Amanda Mevec, Kyle Fincham, Jessica Furey, his adopted daughter Lisa Sherwood. He also leaves his siblings Charles, Gerard (Nancy), Anne (Edward) Moore, Richard (Elaine), Beth (Robert) Carlton, Joseph (Leah), John, Geralyn (James) Ruhle, Paul, Julie (Mark) Leffler.

Denny spent most of his early life in the Saratoga area. He loved Saratoga Race Track, summers at the lake spent with his extended family, loved downtown life and was known for his smooth dancing skills. Denny worked in the family business - Furey Oil and Colonial Heating and Air Conditioning. He went on to work for Freeman and Shea then Boyce and Drake Plumbing. After he retired, Denny and Mary settled in Copperas Cove, TX where they developed a large community of friends.

Denny was truly a soul of the earth. He loved and honored the Native American way of life.  He felt if we learned to live in peace with the earth, peace would come back to us in so many ways.  In his later years, Denny spent a lot of time making Native American crafts which he gave to his many family and friends.  He became known in his community of Copperas Cove, TX as a true artist and had some of his work displayed in local shops. Denny also reached out to those in need without ever seeking anything in return.

Despite the miles between us, Denny continued to reach out to his family. So in the words with which he ended every phone call …. "Love you, Brother."
