Obituary

Saratoga Lake, NY - Diane Christina Fallon Boylan, 76, of Saratoga Lake, died at Saratoga Hospital on December 18, 2020.

Diane was born in Orange, California on September 2, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Ann and Arnold E. Fallon, Sr. Her father was President of Troy Drug Company, Inc.

Diane attended the former Willard Day School, Troy, NY. She graduated from Albany Academy for Girls, Class of 1962. After Girls Academy, she went on to Endicott Junior College, Beverly, MA, where she majored in Broadcasting. She then graduated magna cum laude from the College of St. Rose, where she studied Public Communication and Marketing.  She worked at WTEN-TV as a cameraperson for many years.

In her growing up years, she enjoyed family trips to Miami, FL, spending time at the family camp on Lake Champlain, Dresden, NY, and the Country Club of Troy. A notably creative person, she had an eye for design and style. Her beach front home at Saratoga Lake showcased her unique touch. Diane enjoyed writing and was in the midst of recording her many experiences. She held an appreciation for family and was gifted in sharing entertaining details about her blessed life. She was a very kind person – ever ready to offer an encouraging word or benevolent wisdom. Diane was very proud of her children. She was a gourmet cook – preparing lovely family meals. She loved music and enjoyed singing along with her sisters.

Diane volunteered at Saratoga Hospital and did philanthropic work for the backstretch workers group at Saratoga Racetrack. Diane was also a member of the Junior League and the League of Women Voters. She was a loyal alumna of Albany Academy for Girls, keeping up to date with her classmates, and attending alumnae get-togethers.

She held a strong religious faith – formerly attending St. Peter's Catholic Church, Saratoga Springs. She also enjoyed her Methodist bible studies. She was an excellent swimmer and enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Aqua joggers group at the Saratoga YMCA. Diane was a unique person – and will be forever missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by her son David Romano, Jr. and her brother Robert Fallon.

Diane is survived by her husband, Lawrence Boylan; daughters Ann and Martha Romano; her former husband David Romano, Sr.; four siblings, Ann Reed and her husband Terry, Arnold Fallon, Jr. and his wife Becky, Katherine Underwood and her husband Gerald and Melissa Sullivan. In addition to a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, Diane is also survived by Robert's wife, Helen and Lawrence's brothers, Francis X. Boylan PhD., James J. Boylan MD. and his wife Jo Ann, and Paul G. Boylan Esq.

Graveside services will take place in the spring at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY.
