Saratoga Springs, NY- "Dicey" Francis John Capone, 94, of Ballston Spa, NY passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2024 at 12:55 PM.

Dicey was born on June 17, 1930 in Saratoga Springs, NY to the late, Frank and Rosaria (Mangona) Capone.  Dicey left high school to serve in the Navy during the Korean War and earned three medals.

He was a Union member of Local 157, he had worked for the D&H Railroad and Saratoga Beverage Bottling.  He was a member of St. Peter's Church and a Plank member of the ITAM.  He was also a lifetime member of the Ballston Spa VFW.

In addition to his parents, Dicey was predeceased by his sisters, Jeanette DeSantis and Catherine Cilione; his niece, Jodie Federico and nephews, Donald Capone and Michael DeSantis.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Merrillyn E. Capone; his son Robert (Faith) Capone; his brother, Donald (Trudy) Capone; his grandchildren, Tia (Jim) Mattes, Lisa Capone, Alyssa (Geary) McCleery and Paul Winner; his great grandsons. Jay and Jude Mattes; his former daughter in laws, Judy (Scott) Hubler and Debbie Henstenberg Barrett; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm at the Historic Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.  Burial with military honors will follow at 2:30pm in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY 12871.
