Gansevoort, NY - Domenica "Lee" Olszewski of Newington Ave. and formerly of Prestwick Chase, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 92. Born April 26, 1917 in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Vito and Rosalie Fontana. She married Edmund J. Olszewski on September 15, 1940 and was his devoted wife until his death in 1981. Domenica worked for the New York City Board of Education for 32 years and retired as the Deputy Executive Director of the Board of Education Retirement System in 1985. After her retirement she relocated to the Saratoga Springs area. She was a member of the Saratoga Hospital Guild for 13 years, the Principessa Elena Society, the Ladies of Charity and St. Clement's Church. In addition to her parents and husband Edmund, she was predeceased by one grandson, Bryan Porter. She is survived by two daughters; Carol Rigano and her husband Bourne of Quaker Springs, Janice Porter and her husband Robert of Greenwich, one brother; Peter Fontana of Glendale, AZ, one sister; Frances DiCaneo of Lake Ronkonoma, NY, five grandchildren; Joanne Estrada, Sean Connolly, Denise Barden, Robert and Christianne Rigano, seven great-grandchildren; Michael, Emily, Myles, Maddy, Madison ,Taylor and Bella and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 6 pm Monday May 18, 2009 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday May 19, 2009 at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the Wilton Emergency Squad, 1 Harran Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
