Saratoga Springs, NY- Dominick Albert Stoffolano, formerly of Gloversville, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Saratoga Hospital. Born March 29, 1925 in Gloversville he was the son of the late Peter and Nancy (Dunne) Stoffolano. His loving wife Lucy predeceased him in 1996. In addition to his wife and parents he is predeceased by his siblings, John, Frank, Joseph, Louis, Susan and Carmella. Dominick spent all but the last three and one-half years in Gloversville. His first job was at Lomantos Fruit Market and he always talked fondly about that chapter of his life. It was there that he met his wife Lucy. He retired from Wood and Hyde Leather Corporation after working his adult life in the thriving leather tanneries. For the last three and one-half years Dominick lived at the Home of the Good Shepherd. The family would like to thank the staff at the Home for their kindness and endless support. Dominick will be remembered as a man who worked hard, loved his family and took great pride in his home and vegetable gardens. Survivors include his three devoted daughters, Sandra Stoffolano Baker and her husband Carl of Queensbury, Sharon Stier and her husband Charlie of Wrentham Mass. and Barbara Ferraro and her husband Stephen of Saratoga Springs. He was very proud of his five grandchildren who include Christopher and Jessica Baker, Brad Hutchinson and Nicole and Brian Ferraro. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to Saratoga Hospital Foundation, 211 Church Street, Saratoga Springs, New York.
