Saratoga Springs, NY – Donald G. Clute passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital. He was 84.
Born on May 8, 1933 in West Hebron, NY, he was the son of the late Charles P. and Edna (Mears) Clute. Donald attended Saratoga High School and was active in baseball and basketball. He served in the US Army, receiving an honorable discharge in Feb., 1961. Donald worked as a foreman at VanRaalte Co. and Saratoga Knitting Mill. Moving on as a maintenance worker, he retired from Four Winds in Saratoga Springs. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling and golfing.
In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother Charles E. Clute and his sister Laura B. Crandall.
Survivors include his children, Deborah Daignault of Corinth and Donald J. Clute of Saratoga Springs; three grandsons Donald Jimmy Clute, Ryan and Joseph Daignault; granddaughter Larissa Daignault; great-grandson Joseph A. Daignault; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his two dogs and most loving companions Damien and Bear.
There will be no public calling hours.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11am Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave., Saratoga Springs.
