Saratoga Springs, NY - Dorothy M. Miller, a resident of the Wesley Health Care Center, passed away on Thursday (Sept. 25, 2008). She was 88. Born in 1920 in Huntington Station, Long Island, she is the daughter of the late John and Mary Platts Sweezey and was the oldest of four children. She married Charles R. Miller on Aug. 16, 1942 and was married for 62 years prior to his death in 2004. Dorothy was a member of many organizations, yet her favorite was as a volunteer at the soup kitchen and for the Economic Opportunity Council (E.O.C.). In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her son, Richard P. Miller and his wife, Catherine of Malta; two granddaughters, Cheryl A. Miller of Saratoga Springs and Mary C. Eaton and her husband Robert, of Albany; one great-grandson, Robert Charles Eaton of Albany and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Monday (Sept. 29, 2008) in the Presbyterian New England Congregational Church, 24 Circular Street, by the Rev. Jay Ekman, pastor. Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville. Memorials may be made in her name to the Saratoga County EOC, PO Box 5120, or Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
