Saratoga Springs - Douglas H. Harley died Saturday (Aug. 16, 2008) at Saratoga Hospital. He was 86. Born on May 24, 1922 in Georgetown, Maine, he is the son of the late Webster F. and Lily Brown Harley. He served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1948 and worked in the turbine division for General Electric, retiring after 35 years. He loved the outdoors, flowers, spending time in his garden and was also a member of the Wilton Rod & Gun Club. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Pauline (Sawicki) Harley; one sister, Patricia Davis of Candia, NH; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 6-8pm Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Wednesday in St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Avenue by the Rev. Francis E. Sullivan, C.Ss.R. Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.
