Joe was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs. He graduated from Saratoga Springs High School where he played both football and basketball. He then followed his passion of playing basketball at Paul Smiths, Cortland, and the University of Buffalo; where he received his college degree.
Joe had a successful teaching and coaching career. Mainly at Queensbury High School where he taught Physical Education and coached Varsity Basketball. Teaching and coaching were something he loved and enjoyed the challenges they both presented. He also spent some time teaching and coaching at Burnt Hills and Corinth schools as well. In the summers he was the Director of the Racetrack Jockey ''Y'' on Union Avenue.
Joe enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Schroon Lake boating, fishing, and hiking. He was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of the Saratoga Golf and Polo Club. He also loved the horses and regularly attended the Saratoga Harness and Saratoga Racecourses.
Most importantly, Joe loved his family! They were the light of his life! He enjoyed watching and cheering for them in all of their activities. His kids and Grandkids could always count on "Pops" to be there offering his unwavering support.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all those that loved him.
The family would also like to thank Hospice of Saratoga and his amazing, loving care givers Nancy and Destiny.
Services will be private per Joe's wishes.
