Gansevoort, NY - Edward Francis Hallahan, Jr., passed away Saturday (Sept. 14, 2019) at the Wesley Health Care Center. He was 89.

Born on Nov. 30, 1929 in Mount Vernon, NY, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Marion (Dooling) Hallahan. Having attended Pennington School and A. B. Davis High School in Mt. Vernon, he later went to St. Lawrence University, graduating with honors in 1952. He joined the family owned business of E. F. Hallahan, Inc., started by his father in 1926. He served as Vice President/Treasurer until 1976, when an infection following brain surgery, necessitated retirement. He and his wife then moved to Vero Beach, FL and spent twenty five years between Vero Beach and New London, NH. In 2013, he moved to Saratoga Springs to be near two of his children.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) McCabe Hallahan; four children, Mary Kathleen Hallahan, Edward F. Hallahan III, his wife, Deborah Kreeger Hallahan and their three daughters, Katherine, Margaret and Emily; Patrick C. Hallahan and Richard J. Hallahan, his wife, Mary Colleen Murphy Hallahan and their two children, Connor and Bridget.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 6pm Wednesday (Sept. 18) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Thursday (Sep. 19) in the historic Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway. Private burial will be at Holy Mount Cemetery in Tuckahoe, NY.
