Edward Stephen Kokoski, 76, of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away in his home on March 19, 2026 following a battle with cancer.
Ed was born on December 15, 1949 in Amsterdam, NY, to Edward and Margaret (Oleksak) Kokocki. He was raised in the village of Fort Johnson, NY and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1967. He obtained a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York College at Oswego in 1975 and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Haven in 1985. Ed began as an engineer at Electric Boat in Groton, CT, then he spent the bulk of his engineering career in the cement industry in upstate New York, ultimately retiring from Lehigh Cement in 2016.
In 1975, Ed met Deborah Suhayda in Pittsburgh, PA. They married in 1976 and went on to raise their family in East Lyme, CT, and Saratoga Springs, NY. Ed was a member of the Saratoga Lake Sailing Club, where he enjoyed sailing with the Ensign Fleet during the summer and ice boating in the winter. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his wife Deborah; his daughters, Amy Lydon (Scott), Lucy (Laura) McNamara (Joseph); his grandchildren Samantha, Christopher, Madeleine, Reid, Brooke and Carrie.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 12-2pm at William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. A funeral home service will immediately follow at 2pm.
Burial will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave., Saratoga Springs.
