Gansevoort, NY - Edward Salzman, 85, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ed was born in the Bronx, NY. He served honorably and with pride in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a geologist and then went on to spend more than 30 years as an Earth Science and Astronomy teacher, as well as the Boy's Dean, at John Dewey High School in Brooklyn.

Ed is survived by the love of his life, Susan; his three children Gary, Amy, Gregg and daughter-in law Darlene. He was the cherished Poppop to Matthew, Ethan, Daniel, Sammy, Jennifer, Michael and Hanna.

Funeral services will be at 11am Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Burial with military honors will follow at 12:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.
