Saratoga Springs, NY – Edwin D. Lake, Jr., 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on October 21, 2026 after a short battle with esophageal cancer. He was born on March 8, 1948 to Edwin and Rosemary (Vianna) Lake, Sr. in Schenectady, NY. He attended Mont Pleasant High School, where he met the love of his life, Lissa Gentile. The two were married June 13, 1970 while he was serving in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Campaign. He attended Syracuse University for 2 years prior to enlisting in the armed forces. Upon completion of his military service he finished his college education at SUNY Albany, and graduated with a degree in Biology.
Edwin was gifted with many talents and enjoyed several different career paths before retiring from the New York State Department of Labor in 2011. He also enjoyed volunteering for the community, especially in the Jaycees, where he served as President for several years in the early 1980s. Edwin was a devout Christian, and was involved with religious instruction at St. Clements Roman Catholic Church.
