IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eleanor (Donegan)
Ryan
October 30, 1935 – December 24, 2021
Saratoga Springs - Eleanor (Donegan) Ryan, born October 30, 1935, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on December 24, 2021.
She was born to James and Winifred Donegan in Rosedale, Queens. Eleanor attended Bishop McDonnell High School in Brooklyn and started working at Equitable Life Insurance in Manhattan following graduation. She was an avid bowler, with good reason, since she met her husband Bill Ryan doing just that. They were married in October 1958 and later had two children, Claire and Bill.
Eleanor raised her family through several job changes and relocations, due to her husband's employment. They moved from Enfield, CT, and then to Nutley, NJ followed by Ridgewood, NJ. Upon the death of her husband Bill in 1974, Eleanor relocated to Saratoga Springs to be closer to family. In 1979 she began a long career at Adirondack Trust Company, where she made many close friends, including those who attended the monthly Birthday Club dinner at the Olde Bryan Inn for over 30 years. She continued her passion for bowling and also took up golf, playing in a league at Brookhaven and the Spa Course. Eleanor loved attending dance recitals, plays, lacrosse games and anything else involving her granddaughters. She took great pride in her family, which meant the world to her. She cherished family get-togethers and loved seeing family, most recently at her grandnieces wedding. A kind, caring, loving, and devoted mother, sister and grandmother, she will be dearly missed.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Claire Daly and her husband Tim, her son Bill Ryan, and granddaughters Maeve and Bridget Daly, along with her sister Patricia Mirro, and her nephew, Jerry Mirro and nieces, Ellen (Mirro) Korpor, Kathryn (Mirro) Supko, Diane (Rommelsbacher) Frost and sister-in-law, Kathleen (Ryan) Rommelsbacher.
