Malta, NY - Elizabeth "Libbie" Alley Andrews of The Home of the Good Shepherd, formerly of Lexington, MA, passed away Sunday evening, June 12, 2011. She was 90. Born on August 18, 1920 in Stoneham, MA, she was daughter of the late John and Grace Alley and was predeceased by her sister Marjorie Patch. She graduated from Stoneham High School in 1938, then attended Bryant and Stratton Business College in Boston where her father was a teacher of shorthand and typing. She enjoyed her career as administrative secretary in various businesses, lastly General Dynamics. Upon retirement she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and volunteering for the Lexington Senior Center Library and Meals on Wheels. Libbie was a gracious lady who enjoyed life to its fullest. A devoted mother, grammy, great-grammy, aunt, and great- aunt , she was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Survivors include a son, Phillip (Linda) Andrews of Texas; a daughter, Janet MacLagger of Milton, NY; seven grandchildren, Sandi (Tom) Lynch, Phil (Barb) Andrews, Allison (Brian) Fuller, Laura (Brian) Hemphill, Kevin MacLagger, Sean Andrews and Kimberly White; eight great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews. A private family funeral will be celebrated at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody MA.
