Saratoga Springs, NY - Elizabeth E. "Betty" Arpei, of Embury Apts., passed away Saturday (Mar. 13, 2010) at Saratoga Hospital. She was 85. Born on May 21, 1924 in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick M. and Ethel (DeGroff) Clark and a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. Betty was an elegant and independent lady who loved life and her family. An avid reader and gifted artist, she enjoyed drawing and traveling. She was happy with many new friends that she met while a resident at Embury Apartments. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Arpei, who passed away Nov. 18, 1978. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Sheila Arpei of Saratoga Springs; her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Timothy McBride of Callawassie Island, SC; 4 grandchildren, Kim Siciliano, Laura Kline, Crystal McHugh and Jeremy Miller; 4 great-grandchildren, Alexander and Elizabeth Kline, Daniel Siciliano and Ryan McHugh; one brother, Donald Clark of Climax, MI and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Wednesday (Mar. 17, 2010) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Thursday at the Burke/Bussing Funeral Home.
