Saratoga Springs, NY - Elizabeth W. (Betty) Clute passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at Wesley Health Care Center. She was 86. Born on June 12, 1923 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Adele LeClair Wait. She was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. On April 13, 1947 Betty married Ralph (Red) Clute and they resided in Saratoga Springs. She worked at the National Museum of Racing from 1963 until her retirement in 1988. Betty was also a volunteer at Wesley Health Care Center for 15 years. She was a communicant of St. Clement's Church. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by a brother, John Wait. Survivors include a son, Thomas (Gail) Clute Sr. of Greenfield Center; three daughters, Suzanne (William) Wadsworth of Colonie, Maureen (Patrick) Cummings of Saratoga Springs and Debra Clute (Rudy Weir) of Greenfield Center; "adopted daughter", Bonnie (Todd) Dragland and her children Christine and Katie; one sister, Adele (Adelbert) Sahlberg of Saratoga Springs; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Hoffman, Michele Wadsworth, Thomas (Billie Jo) Clute Jr., Kristen (Joe) Marotta, Eryn (Jarett) DuMoulin, Jeremy Relyea, Delora (Jake) Wojtowecz and David Wooding Jr.; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373).
