Saratoga Springs, NY - Elizabeth M. (Carusone) Connolly passed away Saturday morning, June 23, 2012 after a brief illness at Saratoga Hospital. Born on July 23, 1926 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Margaret (Santa Barbara) Carusone. She worked in several local restaurants where she met her future husband Don. Betty was a homemaker, raising her seven children. She loved to cook, bake and entertain for her family and friends, loved gardening and volunteering at St. Peter's School and Saratoga Hospital. Betty left us to stir the big sauce pan in the sky. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Connolly; her sons Michael and Brian; her sister Celeste Bowser and brother Ralph Carusone. Betty is survived by her daughters, Colleen Newman, Patricia McAuley (David), Mary Connolly-Fabiani(Nicholas); sons Sean Connolly (Therese) and William Connolly (Cristina); her sister, Marie Armer of Saratoga Springs; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; special nieces Barbara and Linda and a host of other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Saratoga Care Nursing Home for their care and compassion to Betty. Relatives and friends may call from 5-8pm Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway(584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway by the Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.
