Mechanicville, NY -Elizabeth J. Izzo, was called home on Tuesday December 20, 2016. Just as in her life, when it was time to return to the Lord, she was surrounded by her five loving, devoted and proud children who encircled and surrounded her with love and comfort.  Beth was a lifelong resident of the Mechanicville community.  She enjoyed being an active member of the All Saints on the Hudson Church, along with many community activities.  She truly loved being with people and staying involved.  Beth held careers at GE, Siena College and New York State in OGS along with other departments.

She is predeceased by her beloved and devoted husband John, her parents Jim and Virginia Sullivan, her sister Maureen Spear and many fur grandpuppies- of honorable mention is Zoe, her faithful companion and protector who helped her after the loss of her husband.

Survivors include her five children:  Ginny (Donnie) Arceneaux, John (Trisha) Izzo, Colleen (Lou) Salway, Michele (Elizabeth Burton) Izzo, Eric (Jenny) Izzo and 13 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Thursday, December 22, 2016 at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, (St. Paul's), 121 North Main Street, Mechanicville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at12noon Friday, December 23, 2016 at All Saints on the Hudson South Church by the Rev. Thomas Morrette, pastor.

Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.

The family wishes to extend thanks to family and friends who have been a part of her journey and offered love and support, to The Wesley Community for becoming her new home during the last months of her life, and to the employees on 2 Hathorn (her angels) who provided kindness during her stay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to The Wesley Foundation, 131 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, New York 12866.
