Saratoga Springs, NY - Elizabeth G. MacFadden, passed away Thursday (Mar. 12, 2009) at Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa. She was 99. Born on Sept. 8, 1909 in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Goletta (Kline) Gustin. A graduate of Johnstown High School in 1927 and Katherine Gibbs School of Boston, she was a secretary for many years until her retirement from Fulton-Montgomery Community College. Betty was a lifelong resident of Johnstown until moving to Prestwick Chase in Saratoga Springs in 2000. She enjoyed her many friends and time with family, as well as participation with her bridge club, study group and historical society. She served the United Methodist Church in numerous capacities. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James F. MacFadden, who died in 1947. Survivors include her son, John E. MacFadden and his wife, Donna, both of Saratoga Springs and her grandson, Scott and his wife, Liza of Huntington Beach, CA; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 11am Saturday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, at a date to be determined. Memorials may be made in her name to the United Methodist Church of Saratoga Springs or in Gloversville.
