Saratoga Springs - Ellen Pasmik of Woodlawn Commons, passed away on Tuesday, (June 23, 2009) at her home. She was 89. Born in Ujlacek, Czechoslovakia on January 12, 1920, daughter of the late Tomas and Katarina (Dingova) Kovacik. She is the widow of the late John Pasmik who passed away in 1999. Ellen came to the United States on August 10, 1938 aboard the steamship the SS Champlain. On September 10, 1942 she married John Pasmik. They lived in New York City where she was a nanny for private families. In 1949, they moved to Greenfield Center and built the family home in 1951. In the winters, they would travel to Florida. She was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Ellen enjoyed the company of her friends at Woodlawn Commons. Ellen is survived by four children; Suzanna (Wallace) Allerdice and John (Julie) Pasmik of Saratoga Springs and Tom Pasmik and Betty (John) King of Greenfield Center, five grandchildren; Wallace Allerdice III, William Allerdice, Jennifer Frolish, Sean King and Valerie Freemantle, and two great grandchildren; Noah and Samuel Frolish as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband John, she is predeceased by a daughter Ellen and a daughter in law Diane Pasmik. Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
