Ellen Ann Schofield, 54, of MIDDLE GROVE, NY, formerly of VANCOUVER, WA entered heaven on Tuesday morning, July 14, 2009, at Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs, NY, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous eight-year battle with breast cancer. Born March 1, 1955, in Rockville Centre, NY, she was the daughter of William and Joan Finn. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa, now residing in Middle Grove, NY; her former husband, Russ Schofield of Portland, OR, her parents, William Finn of Fort Myers, FL, and Joan Finn of Lexington, VA; five sisters: Peggy Jenny and her husband, Dick, of Middle Grove, NY; Kathy Logan and her husband, Bob, of Milton, WI; Mary Irwin of Whiting, NJ; Terry Wright and her husband, Glenn, of Miramar, FL; Sue Finn of Plainsboro, NJ; two brothers: Tom Finn of Boulder City, NV; Jim Finn and his wife, Felicia, of Whiting, NJ; her best friend, Stephanie Richardson of Vancouver, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ellen was most recently employed as a Patient Services Representative at the Vancouver Clinic, Vancouver, WA. She was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter Lisa and enjoyed cross-stitching and spending time with her family and friends. Ellen will be remembered as a loving mom, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, sister-in-law, co-worker and friend. Ellen was a communicant at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Vancouver, WA. A farewell gathering of family was held on Sunday, July 12, at her sisters home in Middle Grove, NY, officiated by Deacon Gary Picher. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 3159 Route 9N, Greenfield Center, NY. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the medical, emotional and spiritual support services provided by The Community Hospice of Saratoga, who assisted Ellen and her family in saying goodbye with love, comfort and dignity. The family would especially like to acknowledge the efforts of Sandy, Brenda and Robin who eased our familys burden during this difficult time. Ellens family would also like to thank Dr. Shawn He, his staff and everyone at the Vancouver Clinic for their kindness and generosity over the past eight years.
