Saratoga Springs, NY - Miss Ethel M. Sastinsky, formerly of Schuyler Drive, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 89. Born on April 16, 1921 in Barberton, OH, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Macica) Sastinsky. She had worked for several years at the Adirondack Trust Company and retired from the bookkeeping department for Fleet Bank (formerly the original Saratoga National Bank and State Bank of Albany), following 31 years of employment. She was a communicant of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church and was a member and active volunteer at the Saratoga Springs Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed sketching and as a member of the center's watercoloring class, had numerous artworks of hers on display over the years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Hickey and a nephew, Brian D. Hickey. Survivors include her brother-in-law, John F. Hickey, formerly of Saratoga Springs and a niece-in-law, Marjory Hickey and several cousins. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10am Monday in Our Lady's Chapel in the parish center of St. Clement's Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday March 14, 2011 in St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Avenue and burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Avenue.
