Saratoga Springs, NY - Everett (Buzz) A. Kraus, Jr. passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 at Albany Medical Center. He was 66. Born Nov. 8, 1942 in Albany, NY he was the son of the late Everett A. Kraus, Sr. and Gertrude Parker Kraus. Everett was a graduate of Rennselaer High School and Sage Jr. College. He served in the US Navy and retired from the Finance Dept. of GE Silicone, Waterford. He was a past President of Saratoga Miss Softball, President of Saratoga Springs Jaycees and NYS Vice President Jaycees. He also started, coached and was a director of the YMCA Micro-Soccer program. Everett was an Ordained Elder and also served on the governing board of the Presbyterian New England Congregational Church in Saratoga Springs. Survivors include his daughter, Amy Kraus and her fianc Mike Splunge of Saratoga Springs and step-daughter, Tracy Schelmbauer of Brandon, FL; two sisters, Joyce Henry of Menands and Joan Dennis and her husband John of Lincoln City, Oregon ; eight grandchildren, Travis, Kailee, Zachary, Tyler and Briea all of Saratoga Springs and Michael, Katie and J'nai all of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Kai Schelmbauer of Florida and Jayden Parker of Saratoga Springs as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 12noon and 6 to 8pm Friday (Oct. 9, 2009) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday (Oct. 13, 2009) at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be 12noon at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
