Saratoga Springs, NY - Frances (Crimaldi) Johns of Lincoln Ave., passed away Wednesday (April 15, 2009) at Albany Medical Center. She was 88. Born on Feb. 28, 1921 in Staten Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Marquetta) Crimaldi and was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Frederick Freddie J. Johns, who died Aug. 20, 2007. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Thompson's Laundry, then at Erlanger's, Mr. Jack's and the Carl Company for a number of years. Frances, more affectionately known as Frannie, was known for her sense of humor, strong spirit, and determination to live her life to the fullest. She loved to be with family, friends, and her dog of 15 years Shana. Everyone was drawn to Frannie for her insight, advice, compassion, and warmth. We were very fortunate to have a mother so wonderful. April 20th marks Frannie and Freddies 62nd wedding anniversary and now they will be together forever. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Wilusz along with her partner Thomas E. Wiley of Ballston Spa and Linda Johns along with her fianc Russell Carroll of Naples, FL; one granddaughter, Amber Wilusz of Ballston Spa; two sisters, Fay Barrett and Rose Schlonski, both of Saratoga Springs; one sister-in-law, Mary Johns of Saratoga Springs and her honorary grandchildren, Crystal Martino, Ami Sodemann and Beth Mekarski, along with several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (April 21, 2009) in St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave., by the Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia. Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorials may be made in her name to a charity of ones choice.
