Wilton, NY - Francis "Jake" O'Melia, 65, passed away at Albany Medical Center Thursday, November 22, 2012. He was born in Ticonderoga, NY on December 6, 1946. Jake proudly served in the Army as a gunner and cook during the Vietnam War. He continued to pursue his love of cooking after his Honorable Discharge. Jake enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, fishing, playing the ponies and Yahtzee. The N.Y. Giants and N.Y Yankees were celebrated sports teams as well. Survivors include his wife Annette; one son, Joseph (Alissa) of Calcium, NY and three daughters Trudie O'Melia (companion Brent Kearley ) of Addison, TX, Christine Pancerella (Robert) of Queensbury and Lillian O'Melia of Wilton; brothers Francis "Red" Bessette of Malta and George; his father- in- law Frederick Carpenter as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Margaret Billings; sister, Peggy Roarick and grandson Jason Whitney II.
