Saratoga Springs, NY - Frank M. Frolish, 90, a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs, died peacefully at the home he built and lived in for over 60 years, on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Saratoga, he was the son of the late John and Agnes (Voyacek) Frolish. He attended and graduated from Saratoga Schools. He proudly served as a medical corpsman in the Army Air Force during WWII beginning in 1942. During his period of military service, he earned several medals including the EAME service medal, the American theater service medal, a good conduct medal, and the WWII Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Upon his return from the service, he worked several jobs in the wood mill industry. He met and married the late Irja Munter Frolish and they built their home and family. He attended IBM vocational school and enjoyed a career as a Customer Service Engineer with the IBM Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1985. Over the course of his career he received many service awards and was appreciated for his technical skill, superior customer service, and ongoing sense of humor and friendship to all. During his long and healthy retirement years, Frank remained active and involved. He volunteered for many years with the Saratoga Hospital Guild, working mostly in the emergency room wherever help was needed. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifelong parishioner of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Rock City Falls, NY. He enjoyed several hobbies including gardening, playing cards, doing jigsaw and word puzzles, and following the stock market. He especially enjoyed NYS Lottery scratch-off tickets. He spent many hours caring for his home and property and a well groomed lawn was one of his prides. He treasured hours spent with his children, grandchildren, and extended family at activities such as picnics, fishing trips, grandchildren's sports events, and the annual family weekend at Lake Champlain. In his late years he also enjoyed attending Wesley Evergreen Adult Day Program. In addition to his parents and wife, Frank was preceded in death by siblings Ludwig Frolish, John Frolish, Frances Beach, Mildred Kusick, Mary Handy, Agnes Frolish and Elizabeth Frolish. He leaves behind sister Bertha Frolish of Saratoga Springs. Survivors include children Alan Frolish and daughter-in-law Joan of Saratoga Springs, Lori Fitzgerald and son-in-law Jerry of Ballston Spa, and Lisa Kersey of Gloucester, Virginia. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Adam (Julie) Frolish, Jeremy (Alicia) Frolish, great-granddaughter Ayla, Timothy Fitzgerald, and Matthew, Jessica, and Caroline Kersey. Additional survivors include brother-in-law John (Rosemary) Munter and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed by all. The family wishes to thank Dr. Eugene Merecki and Dr. Desmond DelGiacco for the care provided over the years and Community Hospice of Saratoga for the care and support during a difficult time. Simon Udemgba at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Rock City Falls at 9:30am Saturday, March 16, 2013. Burial with military honors will follow at Middle Grove Cemetery.
