MECHANICVILLE, NY - Frank P. Scirocco, 74, of Broadway in Mechanicville, passed away at home on Thursday, May 28, 2026, after a brief illness. Born in Saratoga Springs, on April 25, 1952, he was the son of the late Anthony and Frances Scuderi Scirocco.
Frank developed a love of music at an early age, with a particular fondness for the drums. He taught himself to play by practicing on a Montgomery Ward catalog, an early reflection of the determination and passion that would remain with him throughout his life. He was a member of the Saratoga Springs High School Class of 1970. In 1975, he became one of the founding members of Skippy and the Pistons, a musical endeavor that would stand among his proudest accomplishments. It was especially meaningful to him to celebrate the band’s fiftieth anniversary last summer in the company of family, friends, and devoted admirers.
Frank was a lifelong baseball enthusiast and a devoted fan of the New York Yankees. For many years he and his brother Skip as well as their cousin James Adinolfi enjoyed coaching several youngsters, including his two nephews, in various sports at the East Side Rec. in Saratoga Springs. He also enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading, and cooking, and he especially treasured time spent with his family in the backyard and by the swimming pool during the summer months. For many years he hosted his annual Memorial Day celebration. He had a deep appreciation for classic film, old-time radio, and television. Among his many civic and community involvements were his years of service with the local Conservative Party, his tenure as a member of the Saratoga Builders Association Board of Directors, and more than three decades as chairman of the Zoning Board for the City of Mechanicville.
Earlier in his career, Frank served as general manager of Channel 45 WUSV television station. He later distinguished himself as a sales representative with Farone Plumbing Supply, Marco Supply, CTC Supply, and Security Supply, which later became WinSupply, where he served as president of the Saratoga Springs branch. For a time, he was also the owner of Mechanicville Plumbing/Stove & Supply.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother, Anthony “Skip” Scirocco, as well as by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberly Valetta Scirocco, whom he married on May 23, 1982; his son, Zachary Scirocco; his daughter, Alexis (Adam) O’Connor; his beloved grandchildren, Chloe Adams and Murphy O’Connor, who were among the greatest blessings of his life; his sister-in-law, Corrine Scirocco; his nephews, Anthony (Heather) and Mark (Amber) Scirocco; his great-nephews, Schuyler Scirocco, Vincent Scirocco, and Ethan Scirocco; his great-niece, Madison Scirocco; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Valetta; and several cousins and cherished friends.
Visitation will be from 2pm-4pm, and 6pm-8pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Busing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373). A funeral home memorial service will be celebrated at 8pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Bill Benton Foundation. Online remembrances may be made at www.burkefuneralhome.com
