Saratoga Springs, NY - Frederick "Fred" E. Casner passed away on July 21, 2026. Born on March 7, 1966, Fred was the son of Earl and Edna Casner.

Fred is survived by his mother Edna Casner, and siblings Laurelyn, William, Carolyn, and Benjamin. As well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was born in San Mateo, Ca, and considered himself a California native. Fred lived many places including New York City, San Diego, Maryland, and Upstate NY. He graduated from San Diego High School. Fred was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served a mission for the church in Columbia, South Carolina. He had various jobs in his youth and attended day-hab programs. Fred was a lifelong self-advocate.

Fred enjoyed a variety of music, and was a big fan of the Beatles and the Beach Boys. Classic monster movies, and the DC comic heroes were other favorites. A great love for Fred was the library, he went regularly, and felt "everyone should go" to their local library. He was a cat person.

Fred especially enjoyed living as independently as possible in his own apartment in Saratoga Springs, NY. He was able to do that until the end of his time in life. He had many challenges in life, but faced them with bravery and faith in God. He is remembered and will always be missed.

A funeral service will be held on Friday July 24, 2026, at 12:00 Noon, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10 Glenmore Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY. A private burial will follow.
