Obituary

George G. "Champ" Denno of the Stonequist Apts. In Saratoga Springs went to the loving arms of his savior on Friday Nov. 6, 2009 after a long illness. He was 54. He leaves behind his sisters, Beverly Bonibita of Corinth, Doris Older and husband Jim of Greenfield, Mary Rhodes and husband Sonny of Corinth, a brother Cecil "Corkey" Denno and wife Vicki of Corinth, his sisters Eleanor Pliscofsky and husband Tony of Hadley, Shirley Sassenbury and husband Dan of Conover, North Carolina and his sister Linda Beaupre of Corinth. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, all of whom adored him. He is predeceased by his mother Althine R. "Harris" Denno, his father Cecil C. Denno, his sister Nancy L. Baker and his brother Harold C. Denno. George also had a special family at Popes Pizza and the American Legion in Saratoga Springs. George's favorite things to do were helping his senior citizen friends, playing bingo at the American Legion and going to Maine with his sisters Mary "Bro" and Doris "Sis". He would go fishing and he would eat lobster at every meal while there. Relatives and friends may call from 1-3:00pm on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 3:00. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that friends donate to a charity of ones choice. Georges family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Saratoga Hospital. Also, a special thank you to Meg who helped make the end bearable for us.
