Ballston Spa, NY - George L. Woodcock of Geyser Road, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 at Maplewood Manor. He was 83. Born on Aug. 21, 1927 in Corinth, NY he was the son of the late Lester and Irene Rice Woodcock. A US Army veteran of World War Two, he worked for International Paper Company in Corinth for 43 years, prior to his retirement as a crane operator and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Florence Bramer. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Theresa Comfort Woodcock, whom he married in 1946; one sister, Carrie Mosher of Corinth and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 12noon Thursday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Burial with military honors will follow at 1pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville. Taps will be played by his nephew, Ernie Belanger.
