Birmingham, AL - Gerald (Jerry) Pinkerton formally of Lancaster, PA, passed away suddenly Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 while on vacation. Gerald was born on Sept. 19, 1935, son of the late Charles (Pinky) and Agnes Kopf Pinkerton. He is survived by his wife Patricia Miller; one sister, Marcia (Pinkerton) Albright of Lancaster, PA; one brother, Edward Pinkerton of Redington Shores, FL; nieces Lynn (Albright) Helsel and Kim (Albright) Sullenberger of Lancaster and a nephew Bret Pinkerton of Houston, TX. Much loved Pink to Ben,Cathy and Luke Harkin of Lafayette, LA. After attending Lancaster Catholic High School and Franklin and Marshall College, Gerald embarked on a career, spanning 53 years, in the investment world where he truly excelled teaching, inspiring, and guiding the careers of many! He was generous in so many ways with so many people. He was a great storyteller and true mentor. Gerald never met a sport he didn't enjoy from his coaching of midget football early on, his Macon Whoopies Hockey team, the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, Atlanta Braves, to a good day at the track.
