Saratoga Springs, NY - Gertrude Carpenter of Covell Ave. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 82. Born on Aug. 11, 1927 to the late Ernest and Lillian Suttle, she was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs. Gertrude loved to drink coffee and talk on her CB. Know as the "Coffee Queen" she would talk to truck drivers for hours to help keep them awake. She also enjoyed crafts and bowling but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Gertrude is predeceased by her son, Charles W. Carpenter, Sr.; four brothers and seven sisters. Survivors include her husband Frederick T. Carpenter, Jr. of Saratoga Springs; two sons, Frederick T. Carpenter III and his wife Gerry of Saratoga Springs and Randy J. Carpenter and his wife Cindy of Hudson Falls; one daughter, Linda Omelia of Saratoga Springs; two brothers, Thomas Suttle of Saratoga Springs, George Suttle of PA; ten grandchildren,eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great granddaughters.
