Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - Harold D. Bull died peacefully Friday January 5, 2018 at his home. He was 79.

Born August 27, 1938 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Clarence and Grace Clute Bull. Harold was a well-known wrestler at Saratoga Springs High School, recording many wins during his high school career. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves at Fort Drum until his honorable discharge on January 31, 1965. Harold's love for athletics continued into adulthood as he played semi-pro football for the Glens Falls Greenjackets as a defensive end and was most proud of being named Most Valuable Player by his teammates. He worked for over 30 years for the Niagara Mohawk Power Co. in Saratoga Springs, retiring in 1996 as a lineman foreman. Harold loved to fish, especially salmon fishing. He enjoyed his vacation home on Lake Ontario and also took many family vacations to St. Lawrence. Harold was a hard worker and was always the first to offer to help others. Most of all, he just enjoyed spending time with his family and all those he loved. Harold had a saying "strong as a bull" which is what he would always say as he lived throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by four siblings, Lydia Covell, Jean Bush, LD Bull and Fred Bull; one sister-in-law, Carol Sweet.

Harold is survived by the love of his life, his loving wife of 55 years, whom he admired and adored, Arlene Sweet Bull. They loved to go on vacations, taking cruises and traveling the world. He is also survived by their three children, Michael Bull and his wife Mary, Vicky Bull and Lori Weekly and her husband John C. Jr.; three grandchildren that he adored, Britney Bull, Logan Bertrand and Nicole Bull; three siblings, Carl Bull and his wife Marge, Gifford Bull and Lillian Bull; sister-in law Barbara Bull; brother-in-law Walter Sweet as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Harold's family would like to thank Kindred at Home Health Care, Community Hospice of Saratoga and Saratoga Hospital for the care and compassion they gave to Harold over the past few weeks.
