Saratoga Springs, NY - Harold DeLoriea passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 with his daughter Marcia by his side, following a brief illness. Born June 24, 1930 in Corinth, NY, he was the son of the late Jacob and Helen (Burg) DeLoriea. Harold was predeceased by his wife Catherine McIntosh in 2007; five brothers, Kenneth, Donald, Edward, Joseph, Jerry and three sisters, Dorothy, Mary Lou, and Betty. Survivors include his daughter, Marcia Chastanet of Andover, Maine; two grandsons, James Chastanet of Arlington, VA, Ryan and Christine Chastanet of Norwood, MA along with a granddaughter, Michele and Robert Shinn of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois. He leaves behind his beloved great grandchildren, Hayden Shinn, Riley Shinn, Chase Chastanet, Parker Chastanet, and Daisy Chastanet. He is also survived by his sister Alberta Mathis of Schuylerville along with several nieces and nephews. Harold was an avid outdoorsmen, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed participating in his bowling league and was passionate about horse racing. He found pleasure in spending time with his buddies at Saratoga Harness Raceway. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway. Funeral services will be at 10am Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at the funeral home.
