Saratoga Springs - Harriet Van Cleaf Underwood, 89, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her residence, the Home of the Good Shepherd, Saratoga Springs, NY.

Born in Staten Island, NY on June 27, 1935, Harriet was one of 12 siblings of the Van Cleaf Family.  A large family with abundant musical and artistic talent, love, grace and beauty that has flowed to the generations of descendants.

Harriet was preceded in death by her loving life partner, Richard Osborne in 2020.  They had a full and loving life together in Northville & Edinburg, NY. Harriet was very proud of her Children's talents and successes and cherished time spent together throughout life.  It was her greatest joy.

Harriet is survived by her children, Stephen Tyrer (Jackie), Jennifer Jacobs (Mike), Julie McDonough (Bruce), Michelle O'Hare (Mike) and Scott Underwood; 13 grandchildren, Sage Michelle, Sarah, Heather, Ian, Stephanie, Gregory, Bennett, Owen, Clare, Evelyn, Shia, Luca and Olivia; 2 great grandchildren Lilly and Liam; sisters, Carol Murphy of NJ and Betty Burke of PA; brother in law, Dennis Murphy of NJ; many nephews, nieces and friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harriet's memory to the Home of the Good Shepherd at https://www.homeofthegoodshepherd.com/giving/ and/or The Community Hospice of Saratoga 179 Lawrence St. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

A private burial will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery in the fall, followed by a celebration of life.
