Saratoga Springs, NY - Harriet Claire (Guiles) Flanagan of Circular St. passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 83. Born on Oct. 21, 1925 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Isacc and Anna R. (Stengle) Guiles. Harriet worked at The Van Raaltes Co. in Saratoga and also for the Saratoga Springs Public Schools in food service. Harriet enjoyed the flat track but her greatest love was her family and spending time with them. She was of the Lutheran faith. In addition to her parents, Harriet is predeceased by her husband Francis Flanagan who died in 1979 and two brothers. Survivors include her son Francis Flanagan and his wife Tina of Ft. Edward, NY; her daughter Heather Stiassney and her husband John of Saratoga Springs; five grandsons, John, Scott and Bryan Stiassney and Sean and Kyle Flanagan; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 11am-1pm Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). A funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot at Maplewood Cemetery, Loudon Rd.
