In Loving Memory
Helen Butler
January 29, 1928 – February 17, 2026
Helen Butler, age 98, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 17, 2026.
She was born in Watervliet, New York to Joseph and Helen Ogorzelski.
Helen worked as a telephone operator for the Bell System (“Ma Bell”), a job she truly enjoyed because it allowed her to help people and connect lives every day.
Helen and her husband Jim enjoyed the many trips they took throughout the country in their Airstream and cherished the friendships, travel and fellowships it brought into their lives. They once let the caravan to the Statue of Liberty.
Helen had a deeply positive outlook and a contagious exuberance for life. She always wore a smile and offered a kind word to everyone she met, spreading love and joy wherever she went. Gregarious by nature, she had a warm personality and a hearty laugh that could fill a room and lift every spirit around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James T. Butler.
She leaves behind her loving family including her sons and daughters-in-law: James J. Butler and Janet Butler, Robert G. Butler and Jeri Butler, Kevin J. Butler and Lynda Butler; and cherished grandchildren Diana, Brandon, Emily, Kyle, James, Lauren, and Ryan. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Oliver, William, Zeke, Izabella, Sullivan, Myles, and Claire, Grayson.
Helen will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, faith, and the happiness she brought into the lives of her family and friends. Her love lives on in all who knew her.
Relatives and friends may call from 11:00am to 12:00pm, on Friday, February 27, 2026 at St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave. Followed directly by a funeral mass at 12:00pm.
Interment at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery will follow at 2:00pm.
