Clifton Park, NY Ingrid Billie Marinello passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Florida Hospital in Zephryills. She was 77. Born on November 11, 1934 in the Bronx, New York to the late Karl Wilhelm and Ingrid Charlotte Weng. Billie was named Ingrid after her mother and Billie after her father Wilhelm and grandmother Wilhelmina. She was raised in the Bronx and was later joined by her two siblings Gertrude Trudi and Victoria Vickie. While they were children, the family moved to Freeport, Long Island to be closer to their grandparents, Arthur and Cecilia Knight. Arthur immigrated from England and Celia from Sweden. Life in post war 1950s was good on Long Island. It was there that Billie met and married Joseph William Muller on May 15, 1952. They had two children, Joseph William Muller, Jr., who was born on August 3, 1953 and Lawrence Herbert Muller who was born on October 9, 1956. The young family bought a house and moved to Merrick, Long Island. Unfortunately, as with many young couples of the time, the two drifted apart and were divorced in the late 1960s. Billie continued with her life as a single parent working full time in the banking field. This was quite an accomplishment as many can remember women at that time were not totally accepted in the workplace. She also devoted a great deal of her time to charitable organizations such as the Elks club. It was at an Elks conference at the Concorde Hotel in Monticello, New York that Billie met Paul. They shared a common interest in charitable organizations and hit it off. A romance developed and the two were married on October 19, 1974 at the Loudonville Community Church. Billie moved from Long Island to Clifton Park when the couple bought a house in 1974. Billie secured a job with the State University of Albany where she worked until her retirement in 1992. The retired couple, Billie and Paul, took much pleasure in traveling all over the country in their motor home. Billie also remained very active in many organizations. She organized and was the "Queen Mum" of the first chapter of the Ripe Tomatoes Red Hats of Clifton Park and a member of the Red Hats of Southport Springs, Florida. "Billie" was twice matron of the OES and belonged to the Ladies of the Elks and the Ladies Organization of the Oriental Shriners of Zephyrhills. She also became a Matron of the Eastern Star while Paul was the District Deputy Grand Patron. Above all, Billie was known for her beautiful smile, quick wit and love of friends and family. In addition to her husband Paul D. Marinello, "Billie" is survived by her two sons, Joseph W. Mueller, Jr. of Babylon, NY and Lawrence H. Mueller of Freeport, NY; two sisters, Victoria Richard of Islip, NY and Trudi Norton of Center Moriches, NY; and her beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Kristin, Allison, Justin and Laura Muller. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service honoring Billie's life at 2pm Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4 Northcrest Drive, Clifton Park to be celebrated by Pastor Jeff Silvernail of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and Pastor Duke Hergatt of Temple Baptist Church. Burial was private in the family plot in Greenwood Cemetery on Long Island.
