Saratoga Springs, NY - Isabel Berrios of South Federal Street, died Friday April 22, 2011 at the age of 74, surrounded by her family, after 6 years of battling cancer. Born on January 19, 1937 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Sara and Juan Cruz. She worked for the New York City Board of Education for more than 30 years. Isabel moved to Saratoga Springs in 1987 where she was Site Director of the "Before and After School Program" at Dorothy Nolan Elementary School. She was a two term Resident Commissioner of the Saratoga Springs Housing Authority and president of R.A.B (Resident Advisory Board) of Stonequest. She attended St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Isabel was an avid bowler, bingo player and enjoyed making many memories with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Peter Berrios, Sr. Survivors include one son, Peter Jr. of Saratoga Springs; five daughters, Laura and her partner Monica, Sara and her husband Richard, all of Saratoga Springs, Anna and her family of Mesa, Arizona, Linda and her husband Benton of Malta, Isabel and her husband Elmore of Covington, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; five siblings, Jean, Esther, Sara and Tony and his wife Brunilda, all from Florida and John from Saratoga Springs and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30am Thursday, April 28, 2011 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave. by the Rev. Adam C. Wiegand, pastor.
