Obituary

Wilton, NY- It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, James (Jim) Lille who passed away peacefully on September 2nd, 2024, with his family by his side. Born on August 15th, 1949, Jim was a pillar of strength and compassion throughout his life.

Jim was a man of unwavering faith, boundless love, and an extraordinary kindness that left everyone feeling better about themselves.

Growing up in Frankfort, NY as the son of 2 loving, full-blooded Italian parents Dominic and Dominica (Mamie) Lille, Jim was the oldest of 5 children. His childhood was filled with backyard BBQs, outdoor games with his cousins, and an endless supply of meatballs.  A proud graduate of Frankfort-Schuyler High School, he built memories through baseball and Starlighters Drum Core. At SUNY Oswego legendary frat brother friendships were forever solidified, growing into lifelong friends for themselves, their spouses and their children, known as The Buds. After graduating, Jim returned to his hometown to teach World History for several years. This is when he met and married Linda, the one true love of his life.

Jim spent over 30 years in Financial Services, Sales and Operations Management for Aetna, which led to a long and successful career built on ethical values, hard work, and decisions which benefitted everyone before himself. Countless people credit Jim for being the most influential person in their career. He never took credit for successes he was responsible for, instead passing them to others. He built a legacy that continues to this day. Jim retired at 52 to work on his golf game at McGregor Golf Course, spend time with his many friends, and begin his volunteer work.

Jim's faith was the cornerstone of his existence, and he was deeply devoted to his family, friends, and community. He served selflessly as a volunteer at the St. Clements Food Pantry, where his generous spirit and dedication made a meaningful impact. His joy in giving extended to delivering Christmas gifts to Veterans, a testament to his profound respect and appreciation for those who served.

Above all, Jim cherished his devoted wife Linda, with whom he shared a loving marriage for almost 50 years. His pride and joy were his children, Brian (Jill) of Atlanta, GA and Mary (Brandon) of Wilton, NY, and his five grandchildren, Grayson, Ian, Maya, Jake and Harlowe, who brought immeasurable happiness to his life. As their Papa, he found his greatest joy in watching them from the sidelines.

A humble man, Jim never sought recognition but instead lived a life of quiet service and grace. His legacy of faith, love, and kindness will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 3-6 PM on Sunday September 8, 2024 at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373).
