Saratoga Springs, NY James E. Robertson, son of James and Wilmah Cowan Robertson Ashton died Tuesday. Sept. 2, 2008. He was 84. Jim was born July 17, 1924 in North Tonawanda, NY and raised in Cattaraugus, NY. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Jim graduated from Penn State in 1948, earned a Master's degree in 1949 and a Doctorate degree in1962. Dr. Robertson was a life long teacher, retiring from SUNY New Paltz as the chairman of the Educational Studies Department. He wintered in Sebring Florida and enjoyed summers in Saratoga Springs. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Kathryn Young Robertson; two sons, James and Mark; two daughters, Mary MacDonald and Amy King and six grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 11am Saturday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway and private burial with military honors was at Saratoga National Cemetery.
