June 7, 1943 – July 13, 2023
Queensbury – James P. Weinman, age 80 passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023 after a long journey with Alzheimer's. Because of the strong love and compassion of his family Jim was able to rest and be at peace in the comfort of his home.
Jim was born in Albany, NY the son of the late Phillip Weinman and Jessie (Thomas) Weinman.
He attended Vincentian High School in Albany, NY and then went on to Siena College earning a bachelor's degree in Physics.
Jim met the love of his life Linda in 1958 and they married in Lake George, NY in 1966. Together they pursued a life filled with faith, love, adventure, and optimism. He was a kind-hearted man who always had a smile and a wave for anyone he came in contact with.
He worked as a Nuclear Physicist for the Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna, NY.
Jim enjoyed activities such as leathercrafting, dancing, biking, skiing, hiking, whitewater kayaking, rock climbing and traveling the world with his wife Linda. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and close friends at their camp on Lake George.
He was a longtime member of the American Nuclear Society.
Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda (Wagar) Weinman; son, Robert Weinman; grandchildren, Juliyen Davis and Opal Hill; Brother, Mark Weinman (Susan); sisters-in-law, Vicki Weinman and Gladys Weinman; brother-in-law, James Wagar (Kristen); many nephews, nieces and friends.
He is predeceased by his son, James Weinman; brothers, Paul Weinman and Thomas Weinman; and daughter-in-law, Evelyn Weinman.
The family would like to thank all family, friends and caring neighbors for their support, their friends at St Edward the Confessor in Clifton Park, New York, their doctors, nurses and caregivers both private and agency including Home of the Good Shepard, Home Instead, Ft Hudson Health, Neighbors NY and High Peaks Hospice.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10am on Monday, July 31, 2023 at St. Edward the Confessor, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd, Clifton Park, NY 12065. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.
