JOHNSTOWN, NY - James M. Wiley, age 60, of Main Street passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Samuel Stratton VA Hospital in Albany.
Born on August 9, 1956 he was the son of the late Thomas E. (Sr.) and Jeannine Wiley. He graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School, then attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College and received a two-year liberal arts degree. James served in the U.S. Navy in Jacksonville, FL. He worked as a security guard for SI Group in Schenectady for numerous years before retiring. James was a very kind and generous man who found great joy in helping others. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and was also an accomplished musician.
James is survived by his daughter, Samantha Wiley of Raleigh, NC; sons, Robert Wiley and Matthew Wiley both of Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Thomas Wiley (Pam Wilusz/partner) of Ballston Spa, Edward Wiley (Shelley) of Brooksville, FL, Gerald Wiley of Sharon Springs, Terrance Wiley of Stockbridge, GA and a sister, Jeannine Wiley of Sharon Springs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5:00-7:00pm at Burke Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Burial with military honors will be at 10:30am Wednesday, June 28, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
