Saratoga Springs, NY - On Thursday, September 22 nd , God called Jane Anderson Costello home to her reward and rest in heaven. She was so ready to go and couldn't wait to be reunited with all of her loved ones!

Jane was born June 21, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Henry and Nyra Anderson. She had a special gift for making people feel comfortable and always remembered the little things that brought joy to others. Every person she met mattered as she strived to have a positive impact on others. Strangers quickly became friends. If she knew when your birthday was, you received a card in the mail. This kind habit earned her the moniker of "Mrs. Hallmark." Jane was special and everyone loved her!

She and her family moved to Saratoga Springs in 1969. As the children grew, Jane returned to school and graduated from Glens Falls Hospital LPN program in 1972. Later she attended Nassau Community College and became an RN. As a nurse, Jane worked at Saratoga Hospital for six years and at the then newly-opened Four Winds Hospital, for ten. When she retired, she became the first retiree from Four Winds.

Jane loved her family, friends, church, and community with unselfish commitment. Being of service was her true calling. She volunteered at the EOC soup kitchen, Saratoga Hospice, Wesley Nursing Home, the Gift Shop at Saratoga Hospital, and Mary's Haven. She served on various community boards, including Ladies of Charity, United Way, Saratoga County Citizens Committee for Mental Health, Special Olympics, Junior League of Mercy Hospital, the Beautification Committee for the Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross Blood Bank, and taught expectant parent classes. She was active in both Saint Clements and St. Peter's Academy school associations and was active in her church, Saint Clements, where she was a Eucharistic minister, worked on the annual Horse Show, CDC, and the Teacher Parish Council. Jane sang in the choir at Saint Boniface Long Island for twenty years and ten years at Saint Clements in Saratoga Springs.

Jane and Mark were married for 60 years and had eight children. She is predeceased by her husband, Mark, sons John and Michael, and her daughter Maureen. Jane is survived by her children Margaret Morrone (James), Greenville, SC, Nancy Costello (Khaki) New York, NY, Mark Costello (Lisa) Saratoga Springs, NY, Thomas Costello (Nancy) College Point, NY, Sean Costello (Ann) Los Angeles, CA, and son-in-law Christopher Estberg of Nyack, NY.  She is also survived by her sister Joyce Kaufman.

Granny will be missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she delighted in: Joshua and Sarah, Denise and Kaitlin, Shannon and Mac, and Nicholas, as well as Michael and Christian, Frances Jane, and Jane Daisy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Tuesday October 18, at 10:00am at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Burial will follow at 11:30 at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY, where her gravestone will read "Don't worry, Mom!"
