Greenfield Center, NY - Jane A. Mihalek passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the home of her son, with him by her side. Born on June 25, 1925 in the Town of Saratoga, she was the daughter of the late Florence and Joseph Schultz. Jean, as she was known to all, was married to the late Frank J. Mihalek in 1947. They lived in Saratoga Springs until 1968 when the family moved to Greenfield. She was the owner/operator of the Greenfield Village Inn for many years and treasured all her many friends she had made there. Jean was so proud of her diploma fron St. Clement's school that she kept it near her until her death. She sent her sons, Joe and Frank, to school there and now her grandson John (Frank's son) is attending kindergarden there. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, John Schultz, Jay Schultz, Ann Richmond, Thelma Little, Betty Latham, Helen Green, and Ruth Bardwell and her grandson Joseph "Joey" Mihalek II. Survivors include her two sons, Joseph F. (Michelle) Mihalek and Frank E. Mihalek; her loving grandchildren, Mandee (Travis) Dearborn, Kirkland and John and her great-grandchildren, Aiden and Connor, all of whom will miss her greatly. Jean left letters to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to be opened upon her death, entitled "To Those I Love". She is also survived by her siblings, Rita Clark and Robert Schultz as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Community Hospice of Saratoga and to Dr. Duff for all their care and kindness for Jean. At Jean's request, there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. by the Very Rev. Paul J. Borowski, C.Ss.R. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Clement's School, 231 Lake Ave. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
