IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet
Hoffman
December 19, 1944 – December 28, 2018
Fort Worth, Texas - On Friday, December 28, 2018, while at a Fort Worth hospital and with her husband David clasping her hand, God welcomed Janet home and erased all her worldly pain and suffering.
Janet was born in New York, New York on December 19, 1944 to William A. Magee and Maria N. Gaspardis Magee. Childhood and teenage years were spent in Sloatsburg, New York with her parents, younger brother Billy, and maternal grandmother.
Her early work experience was with Eastern Airlines and American Airlines as a flight attendant utilizing her outstanding French language skills. As she graduated from the University of Miami with a BS in Mass Communications, she also worked various jobs in industry, radio, and sports. In 1979, she met her life partner and forever love, David Hoffman, and they were married in Pittsburgh, Pa. on January 10, 1981. In July, 1981, David became part of Chemical Lime Company of Fort Worth leading their effort in technical service while Janet began establishing their new home in Fort Worth.
They both enjoyed traveling and when David's job expanded to Western Europe with Chemical Lime's sale to L'hoist of Belgium, her French language skills were greatly appreciated as they traveled on business and pleasure throughout Europe. In her later years, she was greatly afflicted with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and incurred several heart attacks all of which greatly sapped her strength and ability to participate in many activities.
Janet is survived by her loving and devoted husband David Hoffman; step-sisters, Debbie Light Schulz of West Chazy, NY and Candace Licari of Alstead, NH; step-mother, Dorothy Magee of Alstead, NH; cousin, Dr. Ronald L. Capasso of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; and sisters-in-law, Carol Hoffman of Louisville, KY, Marsha Hoffman Tunison of Syracuse, NY., and nephew Paul J. Tunison of Troy, N.Y.
