Albany, NY-Jason F. Bowman, 83, longtime resident of Saratoga Springs, passed away on September 11, 2022 at the Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Fort Plain, NY on December 29, 1938, he was the son of the late, Carlton and Lora (Chamberlain) Bowman.

Jason graduated from Ft. Plain High School in the class of 1956. Upon his graduation, Jason was employed with the NYS Department of Transportation in Utica as a Civil Engineer and worked on the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. During his time in Utica, he attended the Utica College of Syracuse University. In 1994, he retired from the NYS DOT. After his retirement, Jason worked for several different engineering firms as a professional Engineer.

Jason was a member of the Presbyterian New England Congregational Church in Saratoga Springs and of the Saratoga- Wilton Elks Lodge 161. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his friends and family, hunting and spending time at camp on Galway Lake.

In 1964, he married the love of his life, Barbara Dygert in Ft. Plain, NY and the two spent 58 loving years together.

In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his children, Marc Andrew Bowman of Saratoga Springs, Eric Jason Bowman of Tualatin, OR, Karen Jane Longtin and her husband, Jay of Rye, NH; his grandchildren, Katherine J. Longtin, Elizabeth J. Longtin and Sarah J. Longtin; his siblings, David (Edna) Bowman, James (Nanette) Bowman, William Bowman and Helen Gudlewski; his nieces and nephews, Tom, Tara, Ellie, Peter, Philip Suzanne, Robin and Marla; and many cousins of the Chamberlain and Bowman families.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday September 18, 2022 from 2-4pm at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. A funeral home service will be held at 4pm. Burial will take place in Ft. Plain Cemetery on Monday September 19, 2022 at 12 Noon.
