Gansevoort, NY - The heavenly choir of angels gained a new voice as Jean C. Ernst, 94 years young, joined them on the morning of September 2nd. While she is no longer with us we continue to feel her presence and hear her soothing voice.

Jean arrived in the world on April 4, 1930 in Saratoga Springs to parents Gill T. and Minnie (Weston) Clark. Spending most of her early years on the farm in Malta Ridge, she sometimes shared good memories of the old schoolhouse and Malta Ridge Methodist Church during her years there. A high point during her years at Saratoga High School was the time she spent as a majorette.

Whether working for many years as a wife and mother while helping to run a small business or working in a large and bustling office or contributing significantly to raising a young granddaughter, Jean always had time to be there for others.

Jean has now joined her parents and her sisters Elisabeth, Marion and Janet in the Lord's loving embrace, there to rest at peace. Those family members left to remember her and all she meant to them are her son John (Mary) Ernst, daughter Cynthia Ernst, granddaughters Brie (Zachary) Lawrence and Brooke, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 11:30 to 1:30 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373), immediately followed by a funeral service led by Pastor Bruce Hazard.

The graveside committal service will be at the Malta Ridge Cemetery on Rte 9 at 2:30 that afternoon.
